SVTA Executive Director

Overview

The Streaming Video Technology Alliance is a not-for-profit global technical association addressing critical challenges in streaming video. By educating the industry on the technical nature of the issues, providing a neutral forum for collaboration across the video ecosystem, and publishing documentation that defines technical solutions, the Alliance is helping to improve the streaming video experience at scale. Over 80 companies including network operators, content rights holders, OTT platforms, service providers, and technology vendors – representing some of the biggest names in global streaming – participate in bi-weekly working group activities and quarterly face-to-face meetings. A year into existence, the Alliance realized that it needed a neutral third-party to lead the organization and establish it as a primary force within the streaming industry. Through an executive recruiter, the SVTA contracted with Jason Thibeault who ended his position at Limelight Networks to take on the role full-time. The Executive Director role, answering directly to the Board of Directors, is a CEO-level position responsible for organizational growth (both in member numbers, output, and awareness), strategic direction (in conjunction with the board), and financial health. The Executive Director works with a small staff to ensure Alliance members are well engaged and there is continued work across all Working Groups. This role also provides leadership with respect to marketing and branding which can take shape in a variety of channels including websites, speaking engagements, conferences, and other publications.

Testimonials

Joe Inzerillo

EVP and CTO

Jason has done an amazing job as the Executive Director of the Alliance. As a recognized voice in the industry, he has helped us establish the organization as a trusted, neutral resource. He has demonstrated consummate professionalism throughout his tenure as well as a vision which has afforded us continued growth and industry recognition. He continues to think about the Alliance’s role in the streaming industry, bringing new ideas, programs, and projects to the board for discussion. And when the board has agreed on a direction, Jason has proven his ability to execute. I am certain the Alliance wouldn’t be as successful as it is today without his guidance, input, and contribution.
