Online Video For Dummies


This Dummies book was developed to help people understand how online (streaming) video works. The book moves through the history of online video, explains the workflow, talks about the different technology components within the workflow, and ends with a discussion about different streaming business models. The book was printed and available at various tradeshows, private events, and often hand-delivered by sales staff to prospects and customers.

This book proved to be a significant asset for Limelight Networks (now Edgio). Not only was Limelight able to continually fill pipeline through book distribution (many prospects asked specifically for a copy), but the book was carved into multiple smaller content segments and distributed through a variety of channels. Book requests were handled through an online form on the website and fed directly into Salesforce. Once the published title was no longer available, Limelight continued to offer an e-book version which generated more leads and opportunities.

Project Notes

Blue Flame Advisors head chef, Jason Thibeault, worked at Limelight Networks from 2008 thru 2016 as the Sr. Director of Marketing Strategy. This asset was developed during that tenure.
